Leaking showers repairs

IN BRISBANE

Hi, I’m Kris, your local Brisbane leaking shower repair specialist.

For ten years, I’ve been helping people solve their leaking shower problems. I’ve personally repaired thousands of showers and saved countless dollars for my clients. My experience working for a large company taught me that a personal connection is key to great results. That’s why I deliberately chose to work as a small, independent business—it’s the only way to ensure every single job is completed with the attention to detail and quality my clients deserve.

From our first chat to the final repair, you’ll work directly with me. I’ll inspect your shower, give you a free quote, and personally handle the job. You won’t find me hiding behind a company logo or using private-label products with flashy names that I’ve seen fail many times. I exclusively use top-of-the-line products like Mapei epoxy grout because a quality repair should always be built to last.

I stand by my work and am proud of the reputation I’ve earned among both private clients and property managers. When I promise a solution, I deliver. It’s that simple.

What are the signs that your shower needs regrouting?

Cracked, Crumbling, or Missing Grout: This is the most obvious sign. Grout provides a seal and structural stability, so when it starts to crack, chip, or fall out, it creates direct pathways for water to seep behind the tiles. This can lead to more significant and costly damage to the walls and subfloor.

Discoloured or Stained Grout: If your grout is stained yellow, brown, or black, and regular cleaning with a brush and detergent doesn’t remove the discoloration, it’s a clear sign that water has been absorbed. This is also a strong indicator of mould or mildew growth, which thrives in the porous, moist environment of old grout.

Loose or “Drummy” Tiles: Grout holds tiles firmly in place. If you notice that a tile is loose, wobbly, or makes a hollow sound when you tap on it (“drummy”), it means the grout and the adhesive underneath have been compromised by water. This is a serious sign that the waterproofing has failed.

Persistent Mould or Mildew Growth: While some surface mould can be cleaned, if mould or mildew keeps returning to the grout lines despite regular cleaning, it’s a sign that the spores have rooted themselves deep within the porous grout. The only permanent solution is to remove the old grout and replace it.

Water Leaks and Seepage: Damp patches on adjacent walls, or water stains on the ceiling of the room below are all major red flags. This indicates that water is getting through the grout and is no longer being contained within the shower area. Even small amounts of water seepage can lead to extensive and costly damage over time.

Damaged or deteriorated silicone
Over time, silicone sealant can become brittle and lose its elasticity. You’ll notice visible cracks or gaps where the silicone has pulled away from the tiles or the shower tray. This creates an open pathway for water to seep through.
