Leaking Shower Repairs

ProSeal specialise in unique shower repairs, sealing and re-grouting technology designed to stop leaks without removing any tiles. Standard silicones, grouts and sealants can stop a leaking shower for a short period of time but the problem will return again with more damage than what you started with.

We use materials which are purposely designed to stop any water leakages and prevent future ones for many years. The epoxy material that we use is extremely durable, has excellent bond to the tiles when applied professionally and offers flexibility which prevents the joints from cracking. Due to its structure and chemical formulation, it is 100 % water resistant.

About our epoxy materials:
  • Epoxy grout is an improved reaction resin and slip resistant adhesive suitable for fast setting acid-resistant bonding of ceramic tiles, stone material, fibre-cement, concrete and other building material on substrates normally used in building
  • It has low porosity features, meaning it is not possible for bacteria, mildew or mould access the area beneath the surface
  • It’s highly resistant to breakage, stains, and abrasions
  • It’s the right option for light-coloured grouts since it is easy to clean
  • Epoxy grout is highly resistant to chemicals, hence the right choice for substantial commercial, industrial and commercial areas
  • It is the best option for harsh locations where there’s regular use of harsh chemicals such as schools, healthcare, and commercial kitchens
  • It’s colour doesn’t fade over time
  • Epoxy grout is a waterproof grout for tiling because of its impermeable nature of plastic
  • It won’t scratch delicate surfaces such as metal, marble, or glass tiles
  • It has excellent bond strength
  • Epoxy needs low maintenance compared to cement grout

Standard Shower Repair Procedure Example:

• Leak detection and assessment
( the person who will provide you with a free quote is the same highly experienced technician who will do the job )
• Remove the silicone from the perimeter, vertical joint and the shower screen
• Remove the grout from the tile joints of the shower base and walls
• Clean and prepare for grouting
• Re-grout the tile joints:
( apply Epoxy Grout to the perimeter and the first row of the vertical joint. Apply Epoxy grout to the floor and the walls tile joins to ensure full water resistant. Seal the floor junctions and drain (waste) areas. Wash and clean )
• Apply silicone to the shower screen and vertical joint
• Inspect and seal the tabs

Shower Base Re-grout Services

If your shower is starting to have problems with leaks or a damaged base, don’t leave the issue unaddressed – it can become more than just an inconvenience.

Very often you don’t have to repair the entire shower but just the shower base because it gets most of the water and it is the most critical part of the shower cubicle. The shower base degrades quicker than the other shower walls. Our experience shows that often the shower walls are in good condition and only the base needs attention. During the inspection our technician will find out the source of the leakage and will offer you the appropriate repair approach.

The shower base re-grouting includes replacement of all silicons if needed, which will ensure a better look and full waterproofing of your shower.

Balcony Repairs

Our approach to fixing leaking balconies is technically very similar to the methods we use for shower repairs. Some of the specifics that you need to know are:

  • Most balconies can be fixed without tile removal
  • The old grout is removed and replaced with new waterproofed grout material, including the perimeter of the balcony
  • All drains are inspected and sealed
  • After the balcony is sealed it will be 100 % waterproof and easy to clean and maintain
